Objective:
The goal of this project was to develop an Emissions Tracker, a network based application capable of accepting, managing, and manipulating large volumes of data from the multiple sources required for calculating and reporting environmental emissions. Shipyards are expending significant resources in the form of labor to manually locate and extract data from various information systems across the shipyard, and in aggregating that data to perform emission calculations. These processes are extremely time consuming, and present the opportunity for data entry errors. The Emission Tracker application automates this process by simultaneously extracting the appropriate data from shipyard information systems and preparing it in the regulatory reporting format. Emissions Tracker 1.0 was released on November 28, 2014 and includes the use and compatibility of Microsoft® 2010 products.
