Objective:
This project investigated the development of production information (PI) standards for incorporating lifting lugs and backup structure to aid rigging engineers and designers in presenting the information required to do shipyard block lifts and movements. Throughout the six steps of this project, information was gathered to provide rigging engineers and designers tools to present and review their information. The most intriguing tool tested during this project was the addition of rigging components to the ship’s model.
