Objective:
This project developed a data exchange application that translates data between a shipyard’s material management/procurement system and 3D computer-aided design system (CAD). The “as-is” practices of the shipyard’s material handling processes were first captured, followed by extracting relevant data and identifying system integration paths, or an alignment map. The results were used to build a neutral schema that can interpret common data between the ERP and CAD systems.
