Summary:
The project scope will include the following:
- Phase 1
o Define an ontology for describing the types and levels of maturity of Digital Twin applications
o Establish a foundational approach for V&V on such applications as well as methods, procedures, and tools most appropriate for various types of applications
- Phase 2
o Demonstrate the V&V guidance on actual Digital Twin applications that have been developed by shipyards for government programs o Document the resulting best practices guidance and experience in a guidance document that ABS will issue and update/maintain for government and industry use
o Summarize the results in an overall final research report
Key Deliverables / Benefits:
- Publication of an ABS Guide on Verification & Validation of Digital Twin Technology Applications
- ABS webinar for Government and Industry on the ABS guidance publication
