Good morning,

The purpose of this e-mail is to inform you that NACE has postponed its Corrosion 2020 conference originally scheduled for March 17^th-19^th until June 14^th-18^th, 2020. The decision to postpone was driven by the potential impact of the CORONAVIRUS to its members and attendees. NACE decision is one that I fully support and as a result I am postponing the SP&C Panel meeting until further notice. The health and well being of ALL attendees come first.

We are working on alternative date and location for the SP&C Panel meeting, but please understand that these plans may be impacted by the CORONAVURIS as well.

As you might have surmised by listening to the news, the Covid-19 virus has been ramping up in CONUS. The last couple of days have seen some significant changes both in recommendations from government officials and in blanket corporate travel restrictions. As such, NACE have decided, in the interest of health and safety, to postpone the Corrosion conference until June (please see attached for official announcement that just went out).

Sorry to drop this news on you late on a Friday night as I know it’s going to create disruption for you. We have reserved a large meeting hall at NACE Headquarters to accommodate the SP&C meeting and will continue to support the quality round-table should the SP&C panel desire to hold it as planned. In that case, we’ll also work with you to arrange local catering (which I suspect will be at lower cost to you anyway).

Dear CORROSION 2020 Attendees and Exhibitors,

Following the recent reports of six cases of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in the Houston area, the NACE Board of Directors voted tonight to postpone our annual CORROSION 2020 conference and expo until June 14-18, 2020.

This was a difficult decision, but after consulting with several members of our industry community and convening our board of directors tonight, we believe it is the right thing to do. We determined the best way to protect the health and safety of all participants is to postpone our annual conference.

After close consultation with the George R. Brown Convention Center, conference hotels, and our vendor partners, we believe this is the best solution under the current circumstances. NACE is working with all conference venues and vendors to ensure the process of moving CORROSION 2020 to June goes as smoothly as possible. More details about these efforts will be shared with you via email and posted on our website as they become available.

It is disappointing that we will not be able to bring our professional community together at this time, but we are looking forward to hosting you all in June. We want to thank you all for your patience, support and feedback.

CORROSION 2020 was on track to be one of our best conferences ever and we will do everything we can to provide the same valuable content and business opportunities to you this June.
