Objective:
This project’s overall goal is the replacement of deckplate paper-based forms, replaced with a mobile application. This includes quality inspections, condition found reporting, and generic “requests”.
Summary:
The Oxalis’ Mobile Application enhances the commercially available Atlassian Jira platform to support high security, offline work and has been proven effective at eliminating paper-based Test Inspection Report forms. The goal of this project is to perform the additional configuration, training development and delivery, and field testing to make the solution viable and production ready for the remainder of key Navy repair operational processes.
Key Deliverables / Benefits:
By creating this new solution and proving its effectiveness, there are benefits to both private yards and the US Navy. For yards, this will ensure there is a ready-made off the shelf solution for digital deckplate operations, saving significant costs in paperwork handling, error management, and rework. This same benefit applies to the Navy for use in public yards. Further, by having a successful project, it will validate and provide learnings for mobile application use in general opening the door to further innovations.
