Objective:

The primary goal is to gain the ability to proactively mitigate ergonomic risks before workers are injured or claims are made.

Summary:

The Advanced Ergonomic Assessment project covers the research, selection, testing, and planning for implementation of an ergonomic assessment tool that can reduce the time needed to identify ergonomic risks. The primary goal is to gain the ability to proactively mitigate ergonomic risks before workers are injured or claims are mad e. To accomplish this goal, a thorough market research and down selection process will be necessary. An assessment of the state of the shipyard with injury and claims data will be made. Traditional ergonomic assessment methods will be compared to the new, experimental methods for viability. Any new technology will be evaluated for integration into the shipyard. And finally, interventions will be made where risks are identified to keep workers safer and reduce the frequency of injuries both acute and chronic.

Key Deliverables / Benefits:

The main deliverables for this project are presenting the results through a Final Report that will be made available.
