Objective:
This project will develop a toolset using Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning to digitize Navy Standard Requirements. Using this toolset, the shipyards will be able to efficiently parse the standards documents into logical individual rules and categorize each rule for provisioning into the shipyard workflow as required. This will avoid the need to manually develop and update design check sheets. Digitization of the Navy Standard Requirements will deliver the following efficiencies for the shipyards:
- At the initiation of a ship program, required check sheets for that program will be easily generated containing the applicable Navy Standard Requirements.
- The Navy Standard Requirements will be aligned with relevant attributes allowing updates to programmatically be provisioned into existing design check sheets for active design programs, avoiding manual intervention. This provides both efficiency and quality by avoiding design flaws due to a check sheet not being properly updated.
- Compliance to the Navy Standard Requirements will be captured within generated assessments to provide the Navy a more efficient mechanism to verify design.
