Objective:
The purpose of this project is to analyze current processes and newer tool optimization in regards to power tool cleaning to find out if there is a significant opportunity to reduce costs and improve the coating quality for both shipyards and the Navy. The objectives include:
- Consolidate power tool performance data from independent studies
- Develop a comprehensive list of the generic type of power tools available to the industry
- Generate data on tool effectiveness in a shipyard setting which can be used by shipyards and industry to advance the state off the practice in power tool cleaning
