Objective:

This project developed industry-wide guidance for Hexavalent Chromium exposure to reduce inconsistency and redundancy associated with exposure monitoring, and mitigate the cost impact of this new regulation. The project addressed issues that arise when shipyard workers move between shipyards and are faced with different standards and requirements. The documented outcome of this effort yields practical information that smaller shipyards and organizations with limited industrial hygiene resources can use to characterize and control exposures by activity.
