Objective:

This project developed a single distributive system diagram comparing Steel Vessel Rules (SVR) and Naval Vessel Rules (NVR) to clarify and define cost and design differences between commercial and military performance characteristics on a small-sized combatant. Due to commonalities to both the commercial and military vessels regime, the system selected was Sea Water Service. The results indicate that the total system costs using a military system is 3.29 times higher than the commercial system. Execution of this project yielded many interesting results in material costs, project completion times and over-all project performance.
