The National Shipbuilding Research Program (NSRP) and Office of Naval Research (ONR) are partnering to host the first joint All Panel Meeting and ShipTech Conference.

The event will be held March 23-25, 2027, at the Charleston Area Convention Center in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Attendance is geared toward management and technical personnel involved in ship manufacturing processes and technologies. Participants include Navy technical organizations, industry and academia.

The March conference marks the first merging of signature events by each organization — the All Panel Meeting by NSRP and ShipTech by ONR’s Navy ManTech program.

NSRP’s  All Panel Meeting shares results of recently concluded and ongoing research and development projects; discusses technology gaps in the areas of ship design, construction and modernization; and outlines best practices in the shipbuilding and support enterprise. This meeting serves a critical role for the shipbuilding industry and U.S. Navy by providing a public forum for industry-wide technology transfer and interest discussions.

Navy ManTech’s ShipTech targets the domestic shipbuilding industry, its supplier base, U.S. Navy program offices and Navy-sponsored shipbuilding research programs. ShipTech is a forum to exchange information about manufacturing technology developments generated by Navy ManTech through its Centers of Excellence — as well as the related initiatives conducted by NSRP, industry, and academia.

Crucial goals of the joint All Panel Meeting and ShipTech Conference include reducing acquisition and total ownership costs of naval ships, accelerating the delivery of capabilities to warfighters, and enhancing the competitiveness of the U.S. shipbuilding industry.

Keynote and general session speakers will address:

  • Gaps in technology on the acquisition side
  • The role S&T plays in supporting acquisition
  • How to accelerate capabilities to warfighters
  • Total ownership cost and its impact on delivering the number of ships the Navy needs

There also will be technical sessions focusing on innovative systems, processes and technologies to improve U.S. ship manufacturing, sustainment and repair processes; reduce total ownership cost; and accelerate delivery of capabilities.
