2014
NSRP ASE Investment: $150K
Objective:
This project analyzed and documented interfaces used in Ship Warfare Systems, specifically electrical connectors used on Navy ships, to lay the ground work for streamlining a Deep Dive thrust toward common parts between shipyards, customers, and their suppliers. Connectors used on a small representative set of ships were analyzed at a high level, in conjunction with SEA06 Commonality Enterprise, to determine the feasibility of starting a commonality effort. Areas of interest include reducing the variation of connectors/components, review of specifications and connector selection (signal, power, data, and mixed signals).
Key Deliverables:
Request Final Report from NSRP – Limited Distribution authorized to U.S. shipyards and NSRP ASE Program representatives
