The goals of this project were to: (1) develop safer, cost effective solutions that reduce risk for government and shipbuilder inspection of onboard medium/high voltage electrical infrastructures and eliminate the need for personal protective equipment while facilitating comprehensive inspections accomplished with less labor, (2) develop a solution with proof of concept demonstration that meets temporary (or permanent) installation requirements for the shipbuilder/government implementers, (3) establish the business case and path to implementation for government and shipbuilders including identification of potential vendors to supply products that meet temporary installation requirements and exploring the criteria and viability for permanent installations within MIL-SPEC-16036L.
