Objective:
This project focused on developing a universal quick deployment technology for ships’ lighting that will help to reduce the time required to commission the lighting system and allow for commissioning the lighting system earlier in the construction cycle. The efforts of this project were focused on reducing the cost and time to install lighting compared to current methods and addressed new construction as well as modernization and repair.
The results of this project, outlined in the final report, have shown that it is feasible to standardize a wiring scheme to accommodate the various lighting scenarios used on U.S. Navy and Coast Guard vessels.
