2006
NSRP ASE Investment: $25K
Industry Investment: $55K
Objective:
One issue common to most U.S. shipyards is the shortage of skilled employees and the aging of the existing craft production workforce. Attracting and retaining a skilled workforce is critical to the future of the U.S. shipbuilding and repair industry. This project designed, produced, and evaluated samples of three 30 second video clips, described as ‘commercials,’ and a web portal, www.goships.com, as promotional tools for communicating and improving the shipbuilding and repair industry image. A secondary use of the data from the project is related to organization development and culture change within the industry.
Key Deliverables:
Final Report – Approved for public release; distribution is unlimited
