2014
NSRP ASE Investment: $150K
Objective:
The objective of this project was to resolve the issue of adapting the automated tester to cables for level one testing by developing a concept for rapidly adapting the cable under test to the circuit tester such that the shipbuilding industry could better utilize automated circuit testers in production. Two attractive concepts (i.e., Micro-D and pluggable WAGO terminal blocks) were successfully developed which provided an interface more desirable than the one currently provided on the DIT-MCO 2135. These concepts have been demonstrated to be functional and much more cost effective. Two additional concepts (i.e., “Nesting” concept and 3D printed carrier) were successfully developed for interfacing to a shipboard cable under test. Loopback plugs were also successfully developed using the 3D printed carrier concept.
