Objective:
This project evaluated adhesive bonding as a rapid and low cost method for installing lightweight general outfitting items late in the construction process. Adhesive application guidelines & mounting requirements for selected high value, low risk outfitting items on common finished surfaces in late stage outfitting were designed with the goal of reducing cost associated with hot work, drilling and grinding. The adhesive mounting methods conform to tentative adhesive installation guidelines developed by the Navy and follow manufacturer-established installation procedures.
