Objective:
In an effort to reduce brazing time over manual torch brazing by 80%, this project developed a refined, compact, automatic induction brazing system that can be used on board ships to braze ship pipe connections up to three inches. The advantages of automatic induction brazing include greater productivity and process control than manual torch brazing, and the elimination of undesirable conditions such as safety issues related to the open flame, damage to surrounding components and longer brazing times.
