AP 218/215 DIS Advance Ballot Comment Review (Gischner)

-          250 US Comments

US 203 editorial not technical

It was decided to defer resolution of the issues until the workshop in January due to the lack of appropriate expertise at the meeting.  See Annex I for the list of these issues.  These are preliminary issue and have not been approved by US-TAG yet.

WG 3 Plenary Feedback (Wood)

ATS318 is up for cancellation currently at 20.00 for 100+ months.   The document at the moment consists of only test data.

The meeting discussed the need and effort required for the ATS and decided that the more informal approach of producing a usage guide and test cases was a better approach.

Therefore instead of producing an ATS KSTEP will produce test cases with a usage guide using AP227 usage guide as a template.  There was no opposition from the meeting for ATS 318 being cancelled; accordingly GR will draft the last day resolution.

AP214 has over 200 SEDS issues.

AP203 ed2 is adding the ability to compute cog, including PDM modules, csg, geometric presentation, materials, and geometric tolerancing.

AP 234 Walkthrough (Haenisch)

AP234 has been cancelled under the 3 year rule.  There is an option is to restart with a NWI.  However it would be better to use AP227 and RDL.  Need to investigate how much work it is to add lifecycle phase to AP227.  PLCS will be looked at as well.

DNV will investigate and come back with recommendations.

Open Technical Forum

The open technical forum topic was ‘Referencing RDLs from APs’ which is of relevance for the AP227/ISO 15926 work being done within T23.  Presentations were given by John Dunford for PLCS, Gerry Radack on the general aspects of RDLs and AP interoperability and Magne Valen-Sendstad on the POSC/CAESAR the development and method of using RDLs.  Presenations at the SC4 web site at http://www.sc4online.org

AP227/RDL Discussions (Turner/Jenssen/Lee)

A joint session between T23 and T24

Purpose: We need to agree on an action plan for what needs to be done between this and the next meeting to determine how we can get AP227/ISO15926 to replace AP226 as this still isn’t clear.

Mr Lee from Kriso gave a presentation on the work done on the e-commerce for ship building project. See Annex F for details.

There is currently no data exchange between shipyards, but there is a move to unify the structural and outfitting CAD systems.  Samsung on GSCAD, Daewoo on TIBON M2, Hyundai are currently looking to replace their current CAD systems (Autokon, CADDS, TRIBON), a decision will be taken by the end of the year.

KS-STEP will continue to develop the test cases for STEP APs and provide the motivation for industry.

TWR Test data and ISO 15926

Magne gave a presentation on the work done by DNV on putting the test case into ISO 15926

See Annex G for details.

Some of the functionality covered by ISO15926 is also covered by 227, there needs to be work done where the information is covered and a gap analysis on what information is not covered.

The data was put into an excel spreadsheet (See Annex H)

DNV will use ISO 15926 as their internal database and want STEP APs to cover all the data exchange requirements; this means that AP227 will have to be capable of transferring all the data which can be represented in the RDL.

TWR Test data and AP227

TJT gave a presentation on how the test data has been covered in AP227 (See Annex J)

ACTIONS:
