NSRP ASE Investment: $100K
Objective:
Current practices use many different categories for labeling cables, such as color coding or serial numbers. As ships become more and more complex electrically, it will become increasingly important to categorize cables in a way that lends itself to easy and quick interpretation of what the system serves. This project researched cable tag usage and investigated alternate methods of cable identification in order to improve safety, increase operational effectiveness and reduce acquisition cost. The final report outlines several new approaches to cable tagging and discusses their potential benefits.
Key Deliverables:
Request Final Report from NSRP – Limited Distribution authorized to U.S. shipyards and NSRP ASE Program representatives
