Over the years, focus and interest among panel members and panel meeting participants regularly reveal relevant project opportunities which may not be well suited for larger-scale funding via the ASE solicitation process. In light of this, the Executive Control Board (ECB) typically sets aside a modest amount of money each year to fund relatively small (less than $100K), short-term (12 months or less) projects recommended by the Panel Chairs.
How Does the Panel Project Solicitation Work?
The solicitation and selection process begins with the release of a solicitation. Panel proposals are then submitted to the Panel Chairs in the form of (brief) whitepapers; the panels then vote on which papers (up to three) to submit to the Executive Control Board (ECB) for consideration. Those submissions from all Panels are put through a competitive selection process whereby the ECB selects a Panel Project portfolio for that year.
How do I get involved?
